1. About This Policy
Sunway Entrepreneurs Club (“SEC”, “we”, “us” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and disclose personal information when you visit https://sunwayentrepreneurs.com/ (“Website”), submit a registration form, or contact us through channels linked to the Website.
This policy also covers SEC’s recruitment portal at https://applysec.sunwayentrepreneurs.com/, including applications submitted through it; references to the “Website” include the recruitment portal.
This policy applies to personal information collected through the Website and its associated registration process. It does not automatically apply to third-party websites or platforms that operate under their own privacy policies.
2. Information We Collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect the following information:
- Contact information: Your name, email address, phone number, and other contact details you provide.
- Registration information: Information submitted through SEC's registration forms (such as name, student ID, course, year of study, and email address).
- Other information: Information contained in messages or enquiries you send to SEC.
Please provide only information requested for the relevant purpose. Do not submit sensitive personal information unless it is specifically required and appropriate safeguards have been established.
3. How We Use Your Information
SEC uses personal information only where reasonably necessary for the following purposes:
- To process membership, committee recruitment or other registration submissions.
- To contact applicants regarding application status, interviews, membership or relevant follow-up matters.
- To administer club activities, programmes and events where registration information is required.
- To maintain accurate records and manage the Website and its registration process.
We do not use registration information for unrelated purposes simply because it has been submitted to us.
4. How We Share Your Information
Access to personal information should be limited to authorised SEC committee members who need it to perform their responsibilities.
- Relevant SEC committee members: For processing applications, managing membership, coordinating events or responding to enquiries.
- Sunway University or relevant university representatives: Where disclosure is necessary for club administration, university requirements or other authorised purposes.
SEC does not sell personal information to third parties.
5. Third-Party Platforms and Links
SEC's registration process may use Google Forms. When you open or submit a form, information you provide may be processed by Google under its own terms and privacy policies.
The Website also links to external platforms, including social media and messaging channels. Once you leave the Website or interact directly with these platforms, their respective privacy policies and practices apply.
SEC does not control how independent third-party platforms collect or process information. Please review their policies before submitting personal information.
6. Cookies and Website Analytics
The Website uses a small number of cookies:
- Strictly necessary: sec_consent remembers your cookie choice for 180 days. On the recruitment portal, sec_session keeps committee members signed in. These cookies are needed for the Website to work and are not used to track you.
- Analytics, only if you accept: Google Analytics 4 sets _ga and _ga_20GNWGK1G4 to tell visits apart and measure how the Website is used, such as which pages are viewed, how long visits last, the type of device and browser, and approximate location. These cookies last up to two years.
Google Analytics is not loaded, and no analytics cookies are set, unless you choose “Accept” on the cookie banner. If you choose “Reject”, Google Analytics stays off.
Your choice applies to both sunwayentrepreneurs.com and the recruitment portal at applysec.sunwayentrepreneurs.com. You can change it at any time through “Cookie settings” at the bottom of any page; choosing “Reject” later also removes the analytics cookies. You can also delete cookies through your browser settings.
Analytics data is processed by Google under its own privacy policy. SEC uses it in aggregate to improve the Website, and does not use it to identify you or for advertising.
7. Website Content and Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, the text, graphics, logos, photographs, designs, documents and other materials published on the Website are owned by or used with permission by Sunway Entrepreneurs Club (SEC).
You may view the Website and share links to its pages for personal, non-commercial purposes. You must not copy, reproduce, republish, modify, distribute, display or use Website content for other purposes without SEC’s prior written permission. This includes using SEC’s content, branding or materials in a way that suggests SEC’s endorsement or affiliation without authorisation.
If you wish to reuse any content, please contact SEC for permission. Any third-party materials remain the property of their respective owners.
8. Your Requests and Choices
You may contact SEC to request correction of or, where appropriate, deletion of personal information you have provided.
Some records may need to be retained to fulfil administrative or university obligations. We will consider such requests in light of those requirements.
To submit a request, please contact us using the contact details provided in Section 10.
